Transformation of the Day: LaTonya lost 87 pounds. Her sleep apnea has disappeared, and her allergies have cleared up as well. Intermittent fasting, Keto, and prayer worked for her. Check out her story.
When did you start your journey?
I began my weight loss journey in August 2019. Now, I’m down 87 pounds (as of October 2019).
What inspired you to keep going?
What inspired me was that I knew if I can be committed to food, I can be committed to learning to love myself in a healthy way.
How did you change your eating habits?
Intermittent fasting, drinking only water, and praying. I also did OMAD [one meal a day] and Keto. No sweets, no white foods (like rice or potatoes), and no bread. Yes, I have cheat days, but I choose smaller portions when I do cheat.
- If you don’t like water, keep some zero-calorie Crystal Light in your bag to drink.
- Take your vitamins every day.
What was your workout routine?
I did water aerobics every day during the summer. I also walked around stores to get exercise and stay moving to burn calories.
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight was 447 pounds, and my current weight is 360 pounds. I’m not where I want to be, but I’m sure not where I use to be. I’m so happy I can finally see some results. My sleep apnea has disappeared, and my breathing has changed for the better. My allergies have cleared up as well.
What is your height?
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
I learned how to put myself first. For many years, I abandoned who I was and put other people first, even in my marriage of 7 years. To be good for anyone, you must learn to be good to you first.
What advice would you like to share?
Even if you fail, get back up again because you can win. Also, consistency is the key.
You can win. I hope my story helps someone.
