This is a dessert from a childhood, grew up in Michigan and this was a treat we would make. Midwesterners know what I’m talking about.
Recipe: Provide on the Rice Chex Box (Plain) 9 Cups Rice Chex 1 Cup Chocolate Chips 1/4 Cup Butter or Margarine 1/2 Cup Peanut Butter (or nut butter of choice) 1 Teaspoon Vanilla 1 1.2 Cups Powdered Sugar
I did a double boiler and melted the chocolate, butter, peanut butter and vanilla and then poured it over the cereal to coat.
Then I put in about 1/3 of the powdered sugar at a time and did my best to mix it up. Traditionally you use a large brown grocery store paper bag, but I don’t have and don’t want to the fight the crowds at this hour on Superbowl Sunday. Then you pour the powdered sugar in the paper bag or bag of choice and then shake it up and coat the cereal in powdered sugar. Happy Superbowl Sunday.
