3 tbsp corn starch 4 tbsp cocoa 1 cup sugar plus 2 tbsp 1 tsp vanilla 2 eggs, separated yolks and whites 1/8th tsp salt 2 cups milk 1/2 stick butter 1 tsp cream of tartar
Mix corn starch, cocoa, sugar, then add milk, egg yolks. Bring to a boil on the stove, and cook until thick, stirring constantly. Add butter and vanilla. Pour into baked pie shell(she used a gluten free premade so she didn’t have a cross contamination concern). Mix up meringue by whipping 2 egg whites, 2 tbsp sugar, splash vanilla, and cream of tartar. Top the pie and decorate with peaks. Bake lightly until brown.
