Having Celiac and eating GF here can be tough, since it really is such a fad for so many. I follow someone who “claims” to have Celiac but then is eating out of shared fryers (I’m looking at you Shake Shack) and openly posting about it. So annoying.
For (meh) pizza (originally from NY) you can do Fresh Brother’s–it’s a chain, but they are certified. Yardbird in LA has a dedicated fryer for fried chicken (and it’s SO GOOD) as does The Misfit in SaMo. Tocaya is very safe as well–it’s more “modern” mexican, with a lot of Vegan options, but is very safe. India’s Tandoori in Brentwood is great-knows CC and GF naan. Ekkamai is also another good spot, in MDR/Culver, for Thai.
Shojin is vegan, but everything on the menu is also GF. That’s in Culver.
There is a GF bakery in Culver, called Rising Hearts–we get our bagels from there. Joy and Sweets in Culver does great cupcakes and cakeballs and is 100% GF. There is another GF bakery in Long Beach, but the name is escaping me.
Oh and I’ve been to Rice, recently–I was not impressed.
