Transformation of the Day: Vanessa lost 70 pounds. Healing from sexual trauma and no longer wanting to be a prisoner in her own body was her motivation. Weight Watchers and taking 10,000 steps a day were two keys to her success.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
Finally healing from my sexual trauma and no longer wanting to be a prisoner of my own body was my motivation. Also, I was motivated to be a better mom for my two sons. My progress inspired me when I wanted to give up.
How did you change your eating habits?
I used Weight Watchers, and now I am following the Naturally Slim program. I cut back on portions, limited my intake of fried foods and sugar and drank more water.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you workout?
I took 10,000 steps a day, 5 times a week.

My starting weight was 322 pounds, and my current weight is 252 pounds.

I started in January 2018. I’m still transforming.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No. All natural.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
That weight loss does not happen overnight and to trust the process.
What advice do you have for people who want to lose weight?
I would tell them that they can do it. They just have to believe in themselves.
