Lentils are usually listed as a very inexpensive healthy high protein food and they’re gluten free… but that’s not the whole story. It seems that dried lentils are frequently contaminated with foreign grains. Walmart’s lentils say “may contain wheat” on the bag.

Do any of you eat lentils? What are some safe brands? Are they still inexpensive or does going GF on this negate them as a cheap source of protein?
