Yomara lost 45 pounds. Tired of fad diets and short term results, she took action to get healthy. Intermittent fasting and Keto worked very well for her.
What was your motivation?
After my mother had a stroke at the young age of 49, I knew then that I needed to make some lifestyle changes and get healthy.
What inspired you to keep going when I wanted to give up?
After a decade of fab diets and yo-yo dieting with little or short-term results, I wanted to be successful in my weight loss journey. I wanted to see real results.
How did I change my eating habits?
I started intermittent fasting and slowly cut out sugar and carbohydrates. I eventually combined IF with Keto.
What did my workout routine look like? How often did you workout?
I didn’t work out for the first six months after starting Keto. However, I did hike often. Now, I do strength training and lift weights at the gym every other week. I also use a workout app and do kettlebell exercises at home at least three times per week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 216 pounds, and my current weight is 171 pounds.
What is my height?
When did I start my journey?
How long did my transformation take?
I consider myself still a work in progress (I’m 11 pounds away from my goal weight of 160lbs). I’ve been able to maintain my weight and keep off the 45 pounds I’ve lost for over a year now.
What advice would I give someone?
Take small steps. Slow progress is better than no progress at all! Determination is key!
Is weight loss surgery part of my journey?
No. Although I have considered it in the past, I was so determined to achieve results on my own.
