Does eating fats make you fatter than eating carbs/protein?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I just have a quick and maybe dumb question, but in order to make it short, let me make a hypothetical (illogical) statement:

If you ate 1000 kcals made out of fats a day, you gain more weight than if you ate 1000 kcals made out carbs or 1000 kcals made out of protein.

Is this true or not? Can one macronutrient with the same number of kcals as another macronutrient make you gain more? Or does it not matter, and gaining weight just matters on the number of kcals and not the macronutrients that make the number?

Thank you
